In collaboration with Friends of Puglia, the course will be held at La Masseria 69 Upper Berkley Street, London,W1H 7QZ three times in April: the 8th, 15th and 22nd and it will last for 2 hours on each day, starting at 6.30pm.

For every day the first half hour will be 'dedicated to theoretical discussions that will cover the following topics:

• Forms of traditional dance and music of the Salento (pizzica pizzica, pizzica “danza scherma”, songs “polivocali alla stisa”, love songs, songs of protest, funeral old songs etc.)
• Studies on Taranto and the traditional music of Salento.
• The story of the "folk revival" of Salento and cultural production (books, films, etc.) that has developed in recent years around the movement of pizzica.

To register you must pay the fee in advance, before the beginning of the course. The number of people allowed at this first course is restricted to 15, so we recommend you register as soon as possible.
