Yes. The association is open to anybody who shares both an interest in Puglia and our objectives.
As the only association in the UK exclusively dedicated to Puglia, Friends Of Puglia means to be a point of contact for Apulians living in the UK, and for UK residents sharing an interest in Puglia. We wish to build an imaginary bridge between the UK and Puglia and spread the knowledge of Puglia, to be conceived not only as a geographical region but also as prime cultural, political, and culinary entity.

The association has three main action grounds.
The first is to promote the region Puglia, together with uncovering and reaffirming the Apulian identity.
The second is aimed at developing mutual relationships and friendship ties amongst the members, and the opportunity to share ones opinions within the association.
he first two objectives often coincide. For instance, a wine-tasting event aimed at promoting local wines and the geographical area where they are produced will - at the same time - be a social opportunity for the members to meet.
The third is dedicated to developing relations with the Italian Consulate in London, the ‘Regione Puglia’, the local authorities in Puglia, and ideally with other associations which promote similar objectives to ours.
Friends of Puglia is a ‘non-profit’ organisation. However, the association welcomes collaborative relationships with businesses, for instance by having businesses sponsor the events organised by the association.
There is an executive committee constituted by no more than 11 members which organises events, promotes activities and coordinates information amongst its members.
The committee elects a president, a secretary and a treasurer amongst its members.
Lastly there is an Assembly made up of all the association’s members, which elects the members of the executive committee, deliberates on contributions, and approves the annual accounts.

To actively take part in the lives of Apulians living in the UK and of their friends; to be informed of all the events that we organise and to participate in the them; to personally contribute to spreading the knowledge on what Puglia is, and who Apulians are; to receive news and updates on what is happening in Puglia.
