Free course on Gastronomic Culture for Apulians in the world

“Accademia dell’Enogastronomia Pugliese”: free training for Apulians in the world

The Region of Puglia, in the "ACTION IN FAVOUR OF APULIANS IN THE WORLD" has approved the project called “Accademia dell’enogastronomia pugliese – II Edizione”.

The CNIPA Puglia, a non-profit association, is a recognised training body accredited by the Puglia Region and the relevant bodies at national level and member of the Register of Associations of Apulians in the world, for years it has been engaged in training by teaching new modern methodologies.

The training project, is completely free and is open to 6 young Apulians living abroad. Students will be selected according to the certificates and diplomas held and preferably, on the basis of proven experience in the hotel industry and /or catering.

L’”Accademia dell’Enogastronomia Pugliese”, in its second edition, is a real school on food culture and cooking area. The selected students will study the history of cuisine in Puglia, the characteristics of typical products, the basic principles of wine and the rules of food safety. The theoretical lessons, given by qualified teachers, will be complemented by the practice of basic techniques of cooking and tasting the combination food-and wine.

In addition, participants in the training project will follow a mini-course of learning the Italian language, in the form of e-learning, available on the website www.cnipapuglia.it.

The first edition of the “Accademia dell’enogastronomia pugliese” was a significant innovation in the promotion of Apulian culture abroad.

The course will be held in Puglia from 22 June to 24 July 2009, at the selected facilities within regional restoration and catering environment.

Students admitted to the school will be entitled to:

  • Free board and lodging for the period of the phase of education and work;
  • Free transport from residence to the training venue;
  • Free round trip airfare ticket to travel from the country of residence to Puglia.

The project of the “Accademia dell’Enogastronomia Pugliese – II Edizione” can be downloaded from the website www.cnipapuglia.it, together with the application form, to be sent by fax or via e-mail by 20 May 2009 .
