Friends of Puglia, the first official hub between Puglia and London
After three years of activity Friends of Puglia is officially registered as the first association of Pugliesi people in London. Established in 2006 with the mission to be the role model for the community of pugliesi in London and for all the other ethnicities interested in the pugliese culture, traditions and history.
“We are ambassadors here in London” says Friends of Puglia’s PR Ignazio Schettini, “and we spread our culture all around the world thanks to London which is a melting pot“. Although our association is mostly represented by pugliesi, we have members from different nationalities. We don’t only give advice on how to live in the capital but we also organize events to introduce other cultures to our members as we like to organize different types of ethnic dinners to discover international dishes. Meanwhile we organize cultural events to keep alive our artistic, musical and culinary traditions, giving samples to our English friends and colleagues. In fact, our special festival is Saint Martin’s day on the 11th November, which is a great demonstration of what Puglia is about.
